Dr Mark Winterbottom is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge. He is responsible for educating new teachers, and supervises Masters and Doctoral students. His research interests lie in inquiry learning, and he has applied such ideas to children's learning about their heritage. He is a member of the Cambridge Heritage Research Centre. Alongside, he also conducts research into teacher education and science education. He has worked on curriculum development projects in Egypt, Kazakhstan and Mongolia, and on heritage education projects in Tunisia. The Faculty of Education itself has nine research groups, teaches students at bachelor's, masters and doctoral level, and is one of the leading Faculties of Education in the UK.
