The non for profit association PHOTOCONSORTIUM has the purpose of promotion and enhancement of the culture of photography and the photographic heritage. The association includes important archives, research centres, universities and memory institutions, as well as experienced technical partners and SMEs. And of course professionals and amateurs of photography.
PHOTOCONSORTIUM is the expert hub on photography for the European library Europeana.eu and curates the collections on Photography and on Migration.
Building upon the legacy of Europeana Photography EU project (2012-2015), It is also the curator of the international exhibition All Our Yesterdays.
PHOTOCONSORTIUM is a centre of expertise and knowledge about digitization, aggregation of content to Europeana and other portals, intellectual property rights, metadata standards, indexing, cataloguing and controlled vocabularies, best practices for the management of digital archives, and much more. This is the core to generate activities, provide services, organise training programs and seminars and participate in new research.
